Q: Can I have a logo put on a banner or sign?
A: We can duplicate a logo sent to us either as a
digital file or as camera-ready artwork. Our graphics department works
on a PC platform. We accept most major graphic software files which
can be sent to us via e-mail. If you are sending us camera-ready
artwork, there is a minimum charge of $35.00 for scanning and clean-up
of each logo.

Q: I have a computer graphic I would like to have
enlarged on a poster. Is that possible?
A: In order to answer this question, we will need
to know if your graphic is a bitmap image or a vector graphic. Bitmap
images use a grid of small squares known as pixels to represent images
and they are resolution-dependent – that is they contain a fixed
number of pixels in a given image. Consequently they lose detail and
appear jagged as they are enlarged. We will accept a minimum of 100
dpi (dots per inch) once the image is enlarged to its desired size.
Common bitmap images have file extensions such as .bmp, .tif, gif and
.jpg.
Vector graphics are created by such programs as
Corel Draw, Adobe Illustrator and CAD progrms. They consist of lines
and curves which are defined mathematically according to their
geometric characteristics. Unlike the bitmap image, you can move,
resize or change the color of a vector graphic without losing any
quality, detail or clarity. Consequently, they are the best choice for
enlarging onto a poster, banner or sign.

Q: How can I tell if my graphic is a bitmap or a
vector file?
A: Enlarge your graphic as much as you can and
print it out on your printer. If the edges of the image are jagged, it
is a bitmap image. If the edges remain smooth, sharp and clear, it is
probably a vector graphic.

Q: Can I use a piece of clipart I have downloaded
from the Web?
A: Most clipart graphics which can downloaded from
the web are bitmap images of a relatively low resolution, therefore,
not suitable for enlargement. Some bitmap images are such that they
can be converted to vector graphics. Send it to us via e-mail and we
will determine if it can be done by scanning it in as a vector image
and cleaning up the lines which nearly always need smoothing. If you
are considering having us convert your bitmap image into vector
artwork, there are some definite advantages in doing so. Once we do a
conversion for a one-time charge, we save your logo or graphic for any
future use. It can then be enlarged to any size without loss of
resolution and it will take up much less space on your hard drive. We
will send you the vector via e-mail or on a floppy disk so you will
have it for your own use in other computer programs.
